Distribution: Throughout the Northern and middle United States east of the
Rockies, nearly all of Canada extending even into the Pacific drainages of
British Columbia.
Habitat: Found in all types of water in the northern portion of its range.
Prefers pool areas of very small to medium cool to cold streams in the
southern portion of its range.
Spawning Period: Early Spring in water temperatures of 50 degrees.
Spawning Habitat: Scattered over gravel areas.
Important Notes: The White Sucker is a choice bait fish of Northern Pike,
Muskellunge, and Walleye fishermen.
